Írjon visszajelzéstOld pub with great atmosphere and equally great food. Just what we wanted after wandering away from our hotel on a drizzly Irish evening.Husband had prawns with chili sauce, salad, and fluffy bread. I had the lamb burger (very good taste but the meat was a little too compacted), salad (great house dressing) and a glass of Malbec. Nice leisurely meal. Do not expect to be hurried. Friendly wait staff.
Best seafood chowder I've had!! The food is incredible- well-flavored, and satisfying portions. The chowder was full of hearty chunks of seafood, tender and so tasty! I got a bulmer's cider as well, with black currant cordial. Not to be missed!
Great authentic sligo pub! Fantastic interior and atmosphere, good craic!
The local tourist information suggested we try this pub and this was one of the most authentic places we had the pleasure visiting and eating. The food and presentation was very good. A must try when in Sligo.
There appear to be many, many good places to eat a meal in Sligo. For a town this size, it's really quite impressive how many trendy, foodie, local, organic restaurants there are. Choosing one and only one is difficult, so hopefully this review can help you decide if Hargadons is for you. It's old. It's family-owned. The pub feels like a secret hideaway with so many snugs and nooks and crannies, you could be eating dinner beside your next door neighbor and not even know it. So if you're looking for a romantic night, or an intimate dinner with friends, it's actually quite perfect. There are several beers on draft, the most interesting of which is from a microbrewery in Cork called 8 degrees. A microbrewery in Ireland that serves somewhat hoppy beer! Amazing! The menu is gastropub and CHEAP. Ten euros for a meal of duck confit with blueberry sauce? Hip hip hooray! We had the duck confit and the beef burger. Both were outstanding. I had a glass of wine (this place is owned by the same people as Source Sligo, so the wine selection is the same), and marveled at the exellent selection at such a great price. And the plate of chips (real large chips, one platter is enough for two) was crispy, moist inside and perfectly salted. In summary: regal pub atmosphere with snugs, nooks and crannies; gourmet gastropub menu with excellent food; great tap selection (in Ireland); excellent reasonably-priced wine selection; good service. The only downside is that it is, after all, a pub. So if you want something a little different, it may not be for you.
