South City Kitchen - Smyrna

This Halloween, as is our tradition, we chose SCK as our dining destination. I ordered my favorites: the Gouda fritters, Caesar salad with fried shrimp, and shrimp and grits. I was pleased to find that the food was outstanding. Our server, Dana, was attentive and provided great recommendations, helping my husband choose the catfish, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Dana also mentioned that the menu would soon introduce new options. Interestingly, we noticed that there were only four other couples in the restaurant during our 90-minute visit. Hopefully, that was just due to the Halloween festivities. I highly encourage anyone looking for Southern comfort food to give SCK a try!

This place is fantastic! The lovely patio offers a tranquil setting to enjoy a relaxing evening. The service was outstanding, and the food was the best I've had in a long time. They even provided gluten-free bread for the mussels, which were generously portioned for our group of four. I had the grilled chicken (gluten-free), which my husband also enjoyed, and his Carolina trout was excellent as well. The chef's skill in balancing flavors was impressive, highlighting fresh and vibrant ingredients. I can't recommend this place enough. It made for a truly special evening!

Each dish was exceptional! Additionally, there's plenty of parking available in the free lot, making it easy to enjoy your meal without any hassle. Overall, this restaurant is a top-notch choice for dinner!

When I spoke to the manager about it, he explained that there are now two options: the juicy bone-in chicken for a few dollars more, or the less expensive boneless option. Unfortunately, the waitress didn't inform me about this change and just assumed I wouldn't want to pay extra for a decent meal. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this location.
