Grot - Solnechnoye

The restaurant is good, but the hotel is something else entirely. If you want to experience a slice of Soviet-era charm in Alupka for a very reasonable price, then this is the place for you. However, the service is non-existent.

Firstly, I didn't like the interior; it seemed dirty to me. There was an insect (though it was dead) on the cloth napkin. The khachapuri was undercooked, and the cheese was unappetizing and cheap. The wooden serving trays were used without parchment paper. The dolma felt raw and had too many leaves. The fish was decent, but it needed more cooking. On the positive side, the service was good, and the wine I chose was also decent—I had a semi-sweet white. They offer delivery as well. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but I didn't feel compelled to return.

A truly heartwarming and authentically Georgian restaurant year-round. The food is delicious, and it's a pleasure to discuss the nostalgia for Georgian warmth and hospitality.
