Actor's Corner Cafe' - SOLVANG

My wife and I spent Sunday visiting several historical Spanish missions. It was a cold, raw, miserable, rainy day. Driving home on 101 we debated where to stop for dinner, and decided to go into Solvang to see what was open. Driving around looking for a likely spot we wanted one to which we had not been before we found The Actor's Corner on 2nd Street and it turned out to be the perfect place for us. We had the place to ourselves cozy, warm, and private, just what we needed and received wonderful personal service from Grace, who is both the hostess and Chef Santos' spouse. We were warmly welcomed and immediately were treated to a wine sampling to choose our wine for dinner. While giving us four very nice wines from which to choose a nice way to get warm! Grace engaged us with a get to know you conversation. Things just got better from there. The appetizer, salad, and main course were all wonderful, and the dessert we chose the warm chocolate cake was a perfect exclamation point at the end of a terrific meal. Our only regret is that we needed to get back on the road home, and we didn't ask to meet the Chef. But we should have! So next time we are there (and there definitely be a next time) we will do that. Thank you, Grace, and Chef Santos! We will see you again soon. Anne and Peter

Grace, co-owner and wife of Chef Santo, warmly greeted us at the door. We had a lovely table. She suggested some wine and then brought us samples. Each was unique and delicious. The menu is small; yet it was attractive and really piqued our interest with unusual combinations. I had a chicken entree with a wine and cherry sauce along with scalloped potatoes. My chicken was delicious!! Prior, we were served a delicious salad. After dinner, she asked about dessert; but seriously, I was full and couldn't eat another bite. If you follow my reviews, you know that I rarely give a 5Star rating. Actor's Corner Cafe deserves it! Small, intimate and delicious!!

Two couples together because our kids were all with the other side of the families for Thanksgiving. We made a reservation two months before so we would get the time we wanted. It is a beautiful little restaurant. The hostess/waitress/owner was wonderful and made the evening enjoyable. The wine selection was good and the food was perfect. I liked it that we did not have big portions. I like it when I 'm served perfectly prepared food in a portion that I can finish comfortably not something piled high on a plate that you feel guilty about leaving. The dinner felt more European than other meals because we were not rushed and we had correct sized portions.

We went there 5 years go to celebrate our anniversary that time .. and until now I couldn't forget the taste ... The Chef and his Wife were very nice ... Owned by them, managed by them and they'll be there to serve you as well ... Thank you

This was the best meal we had in Solvang! And we had some good ones! They offer several gluten-free meals that were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, the lasagna and chocolate cake. Our gluten eaters enjoyed their food also. Great wine and great service make this place a must!
