Well, I have lived in walking distance for the last 20 years or so and never knew that this place existed until my brother took me to breakfast today. It has a rough historical diner feeling, and the people there were very friendly. I have the sense that they have quite a few regular guests. My Blueberry Pancake Belly Buster breakfast was good enough to keep it done even after my belly. My brother seemed to enjoy the cookies and Gravy. I'll go back someday, even though I'd hardly ever eat a full breakfast.
Breakfast was very good reasonably priced. Waitstaff was cordial, but very busy, so not as attentive as we would have liked (I went to the counter waited to ask for a couple of items. To be fair, I haven't been there often enough to know if that was unusual or not.
I eat here almost every weekend because the food is great and the prices are excellent. They don't accommodate many special requests, but I love adding cheese and bacon to my home fries. The grilled muffins are fantastic, just like the Sunrise Sandwich. If you see Eric's fried chicken as a special, you definitely have to try it. The fish chowders are also outstanding. For lunch, you can't go wrong with the burgers. Plus, the pasta salad, which isn’t on the menu but is always available, is amazing—and I usually don't even like pasta! They serve breakfast and lunch all day and are open daily (except for emergencies) except on Christmas, when they close. They also close an hour early on other holidays. There's a laundry area next door, which is really convenient.
The server was quick, and the food was delicious. I visited based on a friend's recommendation and was pleased with my experience. #ChrisCortez603
