Having spent £1000's at this establishment. Its rather somewhat sad to report that one has reached the end of one's tether ! Over many previous visits, its been one of almost having to beg for what should be standard polite customer service. One is often made to feel either apologetic. Or having to accommodate the owners children, as they seem to have free reign of the bike frame, the pub grounds ! Disturbing the peace desperately sought by those funding the establishment ! But tonight's experience was the straw that broke the camels back ! HAIR IN THE FOOD !!! Serious because my son immediately felt sick. As did I !!! My son having taken insulin (type one diabetes) for the food. Needed to eat immediately to avoid a 999 scenario ! In panic we explained the situation to the staff. Alas, as in previous situations there wasn't any forthcoming compensation, or immediate help ! Other than waiting still paying for a meal !!! Which forced us to take alternative action elsewhere ! I've a video that shows my poor son pulling the hair from his mouth, whilst Pulling at the food in the bowl ! I've tried to upload it without success. Maybe it's for the best. As the sight would result in others feeling rather unwell ! Regards to all. Lord w
I think that my title says it all. Great location in a quant village. Quiet and unassuming with a good crowd of locals. A proper find for my partner and I. Try the pie if available or the ploughman’s. The beef was sensational with the ploughman’s.
My wife and I travel a lot around the UK in our caravan and we visit lots of country pubs and I can honestly say that the Queens Head is the best, most friendly pub I have ever been in. We took my Aunt, who lives nearby, for a lunch of soup and sandwiches. The soup was terrific, it was really tasty and the sarnies were great too. The young waiter was a very polite young man and he happily accommodated my aunts request for a side salad. My wife and I went back for drink that evening and we chatted with the owner, who was very friendly. We also chatted with a few local regulars and it was just really nice. I cannot recommend that you visit the Queens Head highly enough, it wont disappoint!
Just had a lunch here after a long walk. We had soup, sandwiches and beer all of which was totally delicious and very good value for money. The pub has a nice cosy interior and is full of character. Highly recommended!
