The Idle Hour Lake Tahoe

Talk about your hidden gems. None of the “waterfront restaurants” we googled came up with this place. Not sure it gets any better..

Great place to watch the sun set while drinking a glass of wine. The staff is very helpful and offers samples. They will also offer a blanket if you are sitting outside. The menu is limited but good especially the

Cozy atmosphere with excellent lake views. Great food, great wine and great service. Jenny took care of us and was super friendly and knowledgeable about the wines, which is pretty impressive given their huge selection.Dietary restrictions: My brother has a gluten intolerance and they had several options and he said his meal was delicious

The rude hostess or owner didn’t get to us (the only patrons) for a few minutes. Then when she decided to give us time said we couldn’t get flights of wine because we had a minor and had to go to the downstairs not main pretty area and only buy bottles…even though they serve food so that’s confusing. So definitely would not recommend even if you don’t have a minor. And this should be on their website.

The view, the service and the wine are on point! Where else can you wine taste on the water, ok there is evidently a boat ride tasting. No thanks, I will take the Idle Hour any day.
