Bird In Hand - South Oxfordshire

Wish we could have stayed for longer, but the garden is a beautiful place to be in close proximity to the town, their aviary hosts birds with beautiful song, and the pond's fountain adds a babbling melody. As another review stated, the prices are very good for Henley, and the landlord is a gentleman. We will be back for certain

The Bird in Hand is a wonderful spot for a drink. We were put off by the overpriced and crowded pubs along the river, but thankfully Trip Advisor led us to this gem. The secluded garden, wide selection of beer, and welcoming service made for a fantastic experience. I highly recommend it!

You absolutely must visit this charming local pub for excellent beer and a fantastic atmosphere. The owner is a true English gentleman and the friendliest person you will meet. With a wonderful beer selection and a beautiful garden, I would say this is the best pub in Henley by far.

Our first visit to Henley on Thames and we found this pub from the Camra beer Guide and what an excellent choice. We were made to feel welcome immediately, so much so that by the time we left we felt like locals and returned again the following day. A great atmosphere, friendly customers and landlady/landlord who have been there for over 25 years and have obviously got it right. A nice outside area at the back, good range of beers kept in good quality. If we lived in the town this would become our local .

This was a first visit to Henley and we were encouraged to visit this pub by a family member. What a great find. The only Henley pub in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. A great choice of beers and a lively atmosphere. Definitely popular with the locals. I'd certainly be using this if I lived in the area. Food choices are limited to snacks.
