It was pleasant, but seemed too much like hotel tariff that it is... there was a table with guest who spoke very loud politically, which was a little disturbing, but what can you do. I don't like listening to other people's political discussions when I try to enjoy my meal.
I had never eaten there, but read that there were 4 stars on Open Table and other sites. Went in autumn on a Saturday and was in the restaurant from 5:30 to 7 and there was only another couple with dinner. I heard it was much more busy when the weather was warmer and people outside eat. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable for Southampton. I couldn't find another restaurant in the village that was rated high for food and had cheap prices. If the prices were reasonable, the food was not good. If the food was good, the prices were in the stratosphere. We shared a Mediterranean salad that was delicious. My roast chicken was moist and the sauce was delicious. The potatoes were the best I can remember ever taste in a restaurant. My friend also enjoyed his lake bass. There are not many choices on the menu, but perhaps that was because in autumn there are fewer diners and the cook wants to offer fresh meals. My main theme is the atmosphere. There are concealed lights that have either been rotated at most or have no dimmer switch. Who wants to eat in a brightly lit restaurant? Could make sense for breakfast and lunch they also serve, but not for dinner. A small problem was the wine list. There was a wine through the glass, whose only description Francis Coppola was under the Reds, without description of what was the grape. The waitress had to get the bottle and show me it was a Pinot Noir. But because I stuck between the Cavit Pinot Grigio, which would have made sense with the chicken and the Pinot Noir, she gave me generous samples from both. I went with Pinot Noir. It was very good. Our waitress Claudia was very attentive and friendly.
Exquisitely beautiful food with new chef and new dinner. Outside dining under the moon and twinkling lights was special. Service excellent. Prices quite reasonable. Needs more people at dinner time. Tell everyone!
The food was delicious and our waiter was charming and attentive! Also, the outside tables are lovely!
Everything was excellent except the band, they were absolutely terrible. Claude's needs to do a much better job of hiring live music acts. That's the one thing that would keep me from going back.
