This eatery is the cleanest place i have ever been in, it gleamed everywhere i could see, even the carzee gleamed. the food yep we enjoyed that too

Went shopping yesterday with my two kids as school was closed due to strike. We were just looking for somewhere to have a quick lunch and saw they had a deal that stated kids eat half price. So we Jumped at the deal. Money is tight so i made it clear to the waiter that we want to take advantage of the deal. Only one kid qualified as age limit is 10. No problem there as we too understand the challenging time hospitality industry have had since the pandemic. Now here is the complaint, as we made the order i asked the waiter several times to confirm that our 9 year old order qualifies for the half price, on all times he confirmed yes. So the food came, no complaints about the food, it was fresh and decent portion. When we went to pay, as the waiter read out the bill it was a lot more so i clarified if that includes the half price offer and he went All the meals were full price. As you can imagine, the shock and horror on our faces At that point, another waiter and i think the owner who were standing behind him all went....yes it is full price. Sounded like something rehearsed. I obviously tried to explain what we had been assured etc but they did not want to know. Then my waiter said something that annoyed us more. That 'it happens a lot '. I mean if you have realised your signage and the way you are communicating is confusing customers then as my daughter said (while we were outside) ' do something about it '. I tried to ask if there is any chance they could honour the offer but they said no. I paid as didn 't want to cause a scene but i sure won 't be going back.

A beautiful, well-kept restaurant, run with high standards. The International Grill still offers the same touch of class it did in the 70s. Staff very friendly and very tactful and polite dealing with those protesting about mask wearing

Really impressed on a visit today. The restaurant is really well kept and clean and the staff were delightful. The menu is much as it ever has been with all the old favourites. Although we visited for nostalgia we were actually really impressed and all much enjoyed our meals. Well done Wimpy Leigh on Sea!
