I have been going here for years especially before Holidays. The shop is small but it's loaded with seasonal and everyday chocolates and candies. The owner, I think her name is Nancy will offer you samples. Prices are reasonable for homemade chocolates and the North Fork.
This place is a tradition for our family. Every time we are out here on the weekends, we always make our way to the shop 's owner Nancy, or the Candy Lady, as we call her. The shop is tiny but so charming, packed with SO MUCH CANDY. Total candy wonderland, not to mention other goodies like jams, sauces, spices, candles, nic nacs and decor. Nancy is as sweet as her candy, always giving us a free sample of her delicious homemade chocolate whenever we come in. My personal favorite are her coconut delights (creamy coconut center covered in milk chocolate). I can eat an entire box of those. Her nut and caramel turtles are also to die for!!! The hospitality in this little shop is what makes places like Southold and the North Fork in general so special. Everyone takes pride in their crafts and make their customers happy and loyal. I 'm so happy to support Nancy and her wonderful little business making delicious chocolates. If you 're ever in Southold and have a sweet tooth, be sure to stop by and get your fix!
I can 't believe no other fellow Yelpers have reviewed this sweet spot (no pun intended) yet! After a not-so-awesome visit to Blue Duck Bakery across the street, our need for fresh fudge and homemade confectionery items was still nagging. We crossed the street and entered the charming little cottage that was literally filled to the rim with candies, chocolates, seasonal wares, and staffed by a very sweet lady who owns the shop and makes most of the edibles herself. It was obvious that the shopkeeper/candy maker was very passionate about what she does, as she proudly offered us countless LARGE samples of her homemade fresh fudge, chocolate covered pretzels, truffles, etc. She makes almost everything in house, and also peddles mass-produced candies that she packages up herself into cute little gift packs, or in this case, fall-themed and Halloween-themed sets. So cute! Her prices were not at all extravagant, and she accepted all major credit cards. Watch the shop hours, as she 's not open 7 days a week; it 's understandable that this one-woman operation needs some time off to keep up with the demand for her candies and chocolates! We left with bags full of goods: milk- and dark chocolate-covered caramels (homemade caramel for sure), dark chocolate and sprinkle-covered giant pretzels, milk chocolate-covered turtles , dark chocolate-covered coconut with almond, Snickers fudge, peanut butter fudge, pumpkin fudge, and one of her pre-packaged Halloween-themed gift baskets. You can also find cute locally-themed items for purchase to supplement/offset your sugary purchases!
The owner is incredibly friendly, and the chocolate is outstanding. I had the best dark chocolate peanut cluster I've ever tasted! Thank you!
She makes all of her own chocolate, and you can really taste the difference. We're definitely going back; in fact, it's hard to resist! It was that good. A true local gem!
