The Kennedy - Spartanburg

Chris is an incredible bartender. wonderful drinks and great explanation of the ingredients, history. that never disappoints. my new love? the hammerburger!

It was an overnight stay in spartanburg and had planned on a dachplatz am ac, but it was closed. reception recommended Kenndy and were pleasantly surprised. a bit dated, but very enjoyed a bit of an eclectic menu. Sunday evening and the place also had a pretty good amount. I think it was one of those places that all locals know and enjoy for themselves. try it.

We had the most amazing experience and meal last night. Great cocktails with the bartender staying at our table and chatting. We started with the Caprese Bruschetta which was amazing. One member of our party raved over the Duck Breast and the other two of us had the Pork Chop special with collards and black eyed peas….so good! Several members of the wait staff came by and even brought us 2 complimentary desserts, the carrot cake and chocolate spoon bread. So delicious! We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back! Compliments to the chef and staff!

We have been to The Kennedy 4 times and it has always been wonderful. This time not so much. Upon arrival there were employees smoking in the parking lot and a black trash bag at the front door. We waited quite awhile to order. I think our server forgot about us. I finally had to wave her down. One of the cooks in the kitchen kept running his fingers through his hair. I ordered the chicken Parmesan as I always do. It was just okay this time. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits and it was seriously the size of an appetizer. It took about an hour from when we got there to get our food. When we left there were more employees smoking in the parking lot. We won’t be back.
