King's Blu Jam Cafe - Spring

I met up with the girls here for a breakfast planning meeting. The atmosphere was lively, although it could get a bit noisy if you were trying to have serious discussions. We didn't realize there were plenty of drink options available on the breakfast menu, but we should have asked. The food was outstanding! Three of us ordered the chicken and waffles, while one had a chicken waffle sandwich with cheese grits. Everything was delicious. We started with the 4 Kings Bacon as an appetizer, and to be honest, I don't understand why this isn't a popular dish at every restaurant—it was incredible! I will definitely come back, but next time, just to enjoy the food without any planning involved.

It was Father's Day, and I wanted to treat my partner to a nice brunch. We both love shrimp and grits, and I noticed this restaurant offered some. Upon arrival, it was clear they were busy, which usually suggests the food is great. We wanted to dine in, but the place was packed and surprisingly hot and sweaty inside. Not what we expected. So, we decided to order for takeout. A friendly gentleman, whom I assume prepared our meal, brought it out to our car. Let me just say, the Southern-style shrimp and grits was absolutely fantastic—truly delicious! You could tell he put a lot of care into it!

I enjoyed Saturday brunch during a rush they were experiencing. There was only one server on the clock and she was doing her best. The food portions were enough to feed two at once and tasted great! I put their house made blueberry jam on the English muffin and turned it into breakfast sandwich. Chef kiss! My order, Blueberry pancakes, three eggs, grits, bacon, and added a side of Blu Jam Sausage.

The food was great and they serve a huge amount for the price--we ended up going home with boxes. They also brought us some extras from the kitchen while we waited (the muffins pictured here) and the servers were super nice. We had their chocolate chip muffins, brisket omelet, and the triple jam and would recommend them all.Food: 5/5
