Tommy's Sports Pub - Spring Grove

This place was great early on. It has slipped from great food local atmosphere to gross food and creepy. A favorite was their chicken caesar salad. Used to be the best ever. Now, a greasy pathetic mess, not even close. The beer nuggets have become greasy soggy rocks instead of the former puffy pillow melt in you mouth addiction that was irresistible. Sad.

Made a random bar selection between Lake Geneva WI and Mundelein IL. We chose Tommy 's. It said Video Gaming on the sign. We thought it meant arcade games. Which they did have a few. It really meant slot type gaming. Which we also played and won $50! Also the grabbing machines were set on easy mode. Which was fun to win a couple prizes. Where normally those things are a rip-off. Ordered the small Polynesian pizza. Enjoyed the crust. My brother got a grilled cheese and said it was weak. The drinks were good but pricey for an early Saturday afternoon. There was one bartender for about 20-25 guests. He handled it well, but I had to ask to get another drink after sitting on an empty one for 10 minutes. I always feel rude having to be like Can I get another drink? But it 's my only option after waiting for 10 minutes for him to notice me. I probably wouldn 't come again. But it was an alright time for a halfway stop.

Since no one who works at the bar seems to care, I have no choice but to Yelp these guys. They advertise aluminum bottles as a special and NEVER have them. Come on, people! Either get more of them from your distributor or take down the sign!! Other than that, they're just OK. Nothing to distinguish themselves from the competition. They are close to home, though , so we keep going in from time to time. They need to step up their game. The food menu has also slid downhill in the past year or so. Update- OK, this place is a sports bar but just got rid of the Sunday Ticket. Do they want to stay in business? The bartenders seemed embarrassed. They're losing tips too. We stopped in to watch the Packer game and eat but quickly walked out and drove down the road to Halftime, where they have the ticket and the place is packed. Tommy's is also closed on Monday so no Monday Night Football in a SPORTS bar. Feels like they are on the way out. Too bad.

We tried the place one more time and it will be our last unfortunately. The service was slow, food was okay but it's just frustrating to try and eat or pick up food here.

Picked up a decent size take out order- 2 pizzas, sandwich, basket of fries, beer nuggets, rootbeers. Was impressed that they offered to help me to my car with all that I ordered. Wish the pizza was better- just average pizza, kind of soggy crust. Beer nuggets much better in the restaurant than as take out. Great ranch here!
