Carniceria Y - Springtown

Here's the good: Food is actually pretty decent. Menudo is perfect Carne asada and barbacoa is excellent. Tacos, rice and beans all good. The floor tortillas however are garbage. Here's the reason I will not return after my 3rd visit: Worst servers I've ever had every single time I've come in. They all act so miserable to be here, no smiles or grace whatsoever. After they bring your food out they will sit at a table in the front and you will not get your drinks refreshed, or anything else you might need unless you get up and ask. It's horrible. After 3 similar experiences, I'm gonna miss the food but not enough to come back into this hostile environment. Duece's!

The food is fantastic and the people are amazing! The lengua, barbacoa, tabletas, and chicharrones are all delicious!

I was excited to try some menudo at Restaurant CLOSED, but when I walked in, I saw a large sign saying the restaurant was closed. So, I headed over to the next Mexican spot, El Cerrito.

I haven't dined at the restaurant, but I did order a large amount of carnitas from this place, and I came to two conclusions: 1. These might be the best carnitas I've ever tasted. 2. The price was very reasonable. Although I haven't visited the restaurant part of the establishment, I can only assume that it's just as fantastic as their carnitas. I'll definitely be returning!
