Oppikaai - St. Helena Bay

We tried this place on a whim for my birthday in November. Wow please take it from me that this seafood is unlike anything you've had before. It is extremely fresh and very tasty. It is obvious that the owners have a love affair with the sea and a passion for cooking sea food. It was outstanding and very memorable, and we cannot wait to go back. What would've made this even better would've been a nice tall glass of beer. Unfortunately the restaurant did not yet have a liquor license when we visited (apparently in progress), but patrons are welcome to bring their own drinks with.

Absolutely amazing experience. Food is out of this world. Staff is friendly n efficient and the owner is so down to earth and so friendly. Really a lovely experience and such value for money. Would definitely come back. Awesome awesome awesome...

Understated excellence. Charming owners backed by friendly staff. Excellent service surpassed only by the quality of the food. We will return.

On Sunday we decided to get out of the house and take a drive down to our local harbour and have lunch at Oppiekaai. The food was delicious and fresh tasting. We had the calamari tubes and tentacles as well as the snoek and chips. The servers were very pleasant. We had a relaxing time as the restaurant wasn't busy. The restaurant is not licensed, which was okay with us. The passionfruit and lemonade was refreshing.
