Canton Restaurant - St. John's

Ask for the Phoenix Chicken. Not on the menu, but it's a very tasty chicken breast stuffed with veggies, battered and cooked and topped with a sauce. Delish

We found ourselves in the neighbourhood and decided to try Canton on a whim. Truthfully, our first impression walking through the door was not great; the ambiance could definitely use some improving (i.e lighting, etc), and the place was freezing, but the friendly wait staff, quick service, reasonable prices, and most importantly the delicious food, more than made up for these other deficiencies. We will definitely be back! I'd give it five stars if my rating was just based on food alone!

I am not a Chinese food lover but my wife is and she took me here 4 weeks ago and I was greatly impressed. The food is wonderful and fresh. The service is very good and extremely friendly, the comment I made to my wife was like the servers were owners and were genuinely interested what you thought of the the food and how you are doing. Only reason I would not give 5 stars is the building is old and poor heating, if you are eating in be sure to ware a warm jacket or a couple sweaters.

We wanted some Chinese food and not of the big buffet variety. We wanted an individual meal, but at a reasonable price. So we ventured into the Canton Restaurant, right next to the Volcano bakery (which is great by the way) off Torbay Road. The service was excellent and the meal arrived quickly and the portions just right. Cravings fully satisfied! Canton Restaurant is Recommended!

My family are very frequent take out customers. They currently have the best most flavorful Chinese food in town. Sweet and sour chicken balls are home made with white chicken. Everything I have tried is always fresh and yummy. Always!!
