Thai Express - St. John's

I read the reviews and put this on my list of places to try while here. I didn't realize at first that it was in the mall, but we went to see a movie and I got this. I got the large noodles with broccoli and chicken. It was some of the best I have ever had!

Food was great and to go order was packaged perfectly. We have eaten here several times ordering something different each time and have found it all to be good.

Line up on a saturday afternoon. expect to wait. Food is good if you don't mind waiting. perhaps if they had more than one person cooking it would help.

My coworker is a huge fan of Thai Express and suggested we go for a quick meal after work at the mall down the road from our office, it was my first time so I was unsure as to what to try so I went with something I was familiar with, the General Thai chicken. I was very impressed with the prompt, friendly service but the most impressive part was watching the staff cooking all gorgeous, fresh vegetables and chicken in front of us, the smell alone would make a person hungry! When I received my meal I was blown away by the size of the portion, the bed of rice was huge and the chunks of chicken and vegetables were even bigger. I went with the mild sauce as I do not like spicy food and I was not disappointed, there was still a heat to the food but it was not overbearing, it complemented the sweetness of the peppers and the battered chicken very well, I was above and beyond impressed, it was divine!

Located in Avalon mall, finally we have a Thai fast food that's worth going back to. Lots of flames coming from woks here!All food including veggies I saw being prepared were actually fresh, no plastic baggies!I had tamarind stir fry with fried fish; it was excellent! They also have the best pad Thai I've ever ate in NL. Good portion size (lots of fish).Lots of good flavours too, so many times u get stir frys at this sort of place and they are boring and bland, not here though!They also have containers of peanuts and limes so u can put on as much as u want, no skimping.For my visit there was a large line but they had plenty of people working there that seemed to know what they were at so wait times were very reasonable!U know the place is good when employees from nearby Asian rest. Are in line for there food!They also have nespresso! Likely the only place in St. John's that sells this espresso
