The atmosphere is very relaxed and they ensure that tables are kept far apart. The seafood is cooked in Nayarit style. This has become one of the most popular styles in Chicago in recent years. Some of my favorite dishes include Levanta Muertos, Langostinos Nayarit, Ostiones Gratinados and the Empanadas de Camarón. You can't do anything wrong here. The bar is small but beautifully decorated, with a very good selection of mixed drink and Mexican beers. The place also seems to have live entertainment or DJ on certain days of the week.
The best place to come and enjoy good music and good food Isabell was my waitress and she did an amazing work I definitely recommend this place!
I visited this restaurant for the first time a few weeks ago and was disappointed with the food's flavor. However, after mentioning our concerns to the waitress, our experience improved dramatically. She informed us that the owner had brought in new chefs and additional staff. I wholeheartedly recommend La Ola Del Mar! As soon as you try the ceviche, you can tell that the food will be fantastic. It’s fresh and doesn’t have that off-putting smell that comes from items stuck in the fridge for days. The Huachinango Estilo Nayarit is incredible, and the grilled shrimp have a perfect balance of sweetness and spice! Moreover, the michelada doesn't taste like it was drowned in Clamato, which is a pleasant surprise. Lastly, the customer service is outstanding—very friendly and attentive. A special shoutout to Vicky for her consistently excellent service! The only thing missing is some music!
I have nothing but positive things to say about this restaurant. The staff is consistently attentive, ensuring that our drinks are always filled and our table remains tidy. By keeping the table clean, I mean they promptly clear away any empty bowls and dishes.
The seafood was excellent, just like always, and the service was very good as well. The only downside was that there was no air conditioning, and even our server acknowledged this. I would suggest that they inform customers to be careful when eating the shrimp empanadas, as they are freshly made. My son burned his finger when he grabbed one and hot grease came out. Other than that, everything was great!
