Had her masala dosa for lunch together with my Indian friend. I brought back memories from my trip to India a few years since I barely ate an Indian food that tasted as it was in India. That felt real. A beautiful large dosa, with two delicious Chutneys and a lens soup for 95kr. I definitely come back for more!
There are many vegan options. Everything is very sharp. The bread (Parotta) is great.
To start with do not do what I did when I saw this in the list and mixed it up with the other resturant that starts with South Indian (but ends with Market). They both have a very similar menu with the same kinds of dishes, as does both branches of Saravana Bhavan so this is not as amazing as those where when they came. This probably have the best most central location. I tried what is called The best menu that was a rather big combination and I was rather full after it and while expensive for the amount of food it was worth it. Now let 's discuss each dish that is included in this dish Veg soup This was the best part of the meal, which is not a super good sign. Onion pakora So when this was served it was with a white sauce which made me suspect it was youghurt based, so I asked if it really was vegan and indeed it was not and I got it changed to some tomato based sauce that was not that good. Masala Dosa So you get to choice your own but from what I could read from the menu the options here was Masala Dosa or Plain. The Dosa triangle was quite small and whilte it was served with three sauces before I had said something one of them was gone, so again I got the tomatoe based thing and Sambar. The Sambar was of okey but not the best I have had. Also there was not much filling in the Dosa and it was quite small (But considering the amount of food I had that was okey. But no way the dosa alone would be enough to be filled) Veg Curry So this was served as a bucket of curry and a bowl of rice and I have no idea how I was suposed to eat it. Also the curry was the worst part of the meal, it didn 't really taste of any spieces or anything. It was very bland. So I guess if you don 't like heat and spieces it is a good option. Parotta I never had it before but it was quite okeyish. Although I prefare Chapati as a vegan bread for Indian food. Desert Not sure what it was, there was a lot of confussion about if the daily desert was vegan (the menu said there was vegan options) and in the end I got something based on semolina and nuts that I acctualy enjoyed more than I thought I would. So there is a lot of growth to be done for this resturant, the main issue is that they seem very unsure on what is vegan or not. I think if I go back I will probably have the tiffin menu as this seems to be the strength.
