However the main reason to go here is the pastry. It is hard to choose as there is such a variety. I am slowly working through the variety but i'm stuck on the custard tarts. As well there is fresh bread that is out of this world.
My husband and I are working our way through the pastry case at Art'es, one coffee date at a time. Excellent espresso, puff pastry, Danish, doughnuts, custard tarts, cinnamon rolls--we are only about 1/3 of the way through their selection! My favourite so far is probably the almond croissant, but everything has been delicious. Try it! They always seem to have customers.
Wanted to try the Portuguese custard tarts. Wife thought they were sweeter than ones from London but a bit over cooked. Will try them again next time. May have been just this time.Better Danish than ones I have found lately in London.Plenty of space to sit and eat. Tables and a couple of lounge chairs to relax and enjoy your food in.Will try the breads next visit.
At least buy your pastries here....then get a Timmies coffee. This is a local bakery, with a Portuguese flavour..they need our support. Why? Because their stuff is fantastic! Love the breads too.
Great portuguese and sour dough buns-best in town! Many sweets to choose from=too many to mention! They have sit down for lunch.
