Thenell Cottage - Sturgeon Bay

An entertaining atmosphere with excellent food! Friendly staff! Birmingham’s has been in the municipality for decades. Although the original owners have died, the family guides the restaurant and bar and it has kept many of the same food traditions.

We stumbled over this place and rejoiced. The food is homemade and absolutely delicious. Burgers, Pommes and Wisconsin Chili were excellent. A very charming place. Rejected and friendly. I can't wait to get back to Sturgeon Bay on our next trip!

We visited Birminghams for lunch according to recommendations. Our party had a cheese pizza, burgers and chili. The pizza was fine as the chili that contained beans and spaghetti. The burger was fine, but a little juicer than the well I prefer. Our waitress was friendly and we couldn't ask for more. The bartender extended a friendly greeting. We noticed that locals seemed to visit the bar. We can get back to Birmingham for convenience, but we can think of other restaurants in Door County that we prefer it.

Nice and cozy. You can go down to the beach and swim, play, have a fire while you see the sun. Eating nearby is the city of Sturgeon Bay. Nice area.

Friendly staff. Delicious food! I appreciate the bartender wiping down with bleach water and Clorox wipes after every person leaves! The servers also have buckets full of bleach water to sanitize tables between guests. Glad to support a small family business like this!
