Golden Age Cinema & Bar - Surry Hills

Loud, Swiss, our table had my reservation, but a few sat there, I had to remove. mocktails are mixed and terrible. eat imperceptibly. ordered popcorn with end drinks. it was cold and chewing. it returned, no refund was offered. the bar staff has distracted each other and danced behind the bar. I used to be here and found it elegant. the things have changed even worse.

I love the ambience in the Golden Age Bar and the bar food was very good (especially the Ortiz anchovies with delicious sourdough). As the cinema doesn’t have raked seating, our friends were unable to see the whole screen and read all the subtitles. We’ll be back occasionally to soak in the Art Deco ambience but not regularly as value for money isn’t as as good as other Arthouse cinema chains.

A particular staff member was very friendly, personable and attentive. A great round of drinks and a bottle of bubbles was very much enjoyed. Thanks ! x

I think it’s unbelievable that you would sell all of your (10 bottles) Stock of champagne to one customer early in the night meaning no one else has any to consume. The last time I was here you were also sole out. Both my tables were at 7:30om. Your staff were apologetic but not much could be done!!

Love this bar. had a bottle blowing before we went to dinner in a restaurant. I cleaned a few popcorn, but it ended up all unloved cores, so showed the personal and she apologized and gave us a pocket of chips to compensate. the personal is amazing and the venue is perfect for intimate meeting or a date!
