Batter Up! Cater Up! - Sylacauga

We stopped here on our way home. The hours are different due to Covid, but we arrived just as they opened. The food was amazing! Clean, friendly atmosphere, waiters were attentive to every table and very friendly. Hat to cook! He did a great job to prepare our house cooked food. I'd like to go back there!

Good Southern food. The place was packed and the waiting line was long. Fortunately I was alone and able to get a seat at the bar without a wait. Country Fried Steak was great. Chocolate Chess pie for dessert. I do want to come back and try the catfish. Not open everyday so check the schedule before you make the trip.

My first time here and it was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive even though it was very busy. The country fried steak was probably the best I've had.

My family took me for an absolutely delicious birthday lunch at Batter Up Childersburg on Friday. Pictured is The Big League catfish and shrimp plate with hush puppies and two sides for $13.49. Fresh flaky catfish fillets, 6 tender crunchy-battered jumbo shrimp, subtly sweet hush puppies...all cooked and seasoned to perfection. The rest of my family had the lunch buffet and loved it, except for the smoked bbq chicken which was visibly dried out (needed a dipping sauce or to be placed in the buffet warmer with sauce on it).The cost of the lunch buffet was $10 tax includes salad bar, hot buffet, drink, roll, and today 's dessert, decadent chocolate cobbler. Sweet Presley was our server, but it was also nice to see all the friendly servers work as a cohesive team refilling drinks, checking on the tables, and delivering the hot food. Restaurant was clean. Both the salad bar and buffet were fully stocked. Atmosphere was fun baseball themed and welcoming. We WILL definitely be back...the best cat fish I 've tried since moving to Alabama 4 years ago. Great place. Went there for Valentine's. Fancied up the table and gave out flowers. Great chicken. Very well seasoned. Delicious Mac and cheese. Really friendly staff. Would go again.
