Overall, the sandwich was a bit dry and could have benefited from some additional sauce, perhaps garlic sauce or hummus, to help hold it together. The Baba Ganouj had a slightly burnt taste, but that did enhance the flavor of our sandwiches. The Shawarma was better than the chicken kebob sandwich, but still not quite what I would consider authentic. Having grown up in Saudi Arabia and enjoyed the real deal, I might have set my expectations a bit high. Overall, the food was okay, and I would typically rate it a three. However, I was genuinely pleased with the service, so I would like to give a one-point boost solely based on that.
It's been a long time, but we finally have a mamoun in Long Island. Very close to the high style and very cool mood with clean tables. The owners know better not to mess with the menu and how the food is loved. The service is fast and the ambience is very simple and hip. The only thing missing is the crowded metros and hectic of the city. It's really the best felafal sandwich. Very good vegetarian options.
It's a must for vegetarians! Smack in the middle of her display board of options is the Veg choice anywhere else! . Had the West Village Pita Sandwich and the combination of all flavors was quite delish. My hopes: The Falafel balls become with texture and strength the Pita becomes toasty warm. As far as taste is concerned, nothing was too overlaid, meaning that all flavors came through well, and the pimples were an unexpected addition, a good salty crunch. Yes, there is a line during peak times, but it moves quickly. The parking lot is definitely a problem. So prepare for your patience. And they need to set up a numerical display so that the males are alerted that the food is ready; if you sit, it is difficult to call them your order.
The menu may be straightforward, but the flavors are anything but ordinary. I opted for the chicken kebab plate, expecting just a small cube of chicken breast, but I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion. The combination of rice and salad was delightful, and you won't regret choosing either. Overall, the taste was fantastic, and the entire experience was enjoyable.
Food was delicious and worth the price we paid. We both got the combo later with both rice and salad. We were both surprised with all the food we got. Definitely will go there again. Only complaint was that the young fellow behind the register seemed to rush us to place our order. It was our first time there and we were unfamiliar with the menu. Besides, there was no one behind us.
