Famous Dave's B-que - Tacoma

I usually enjoy dining at Famous Dave's and was excited to go there with my family. However, we encountered some issues during our visit. I ordered a 'Smokin Long Island Tea' expecting the tea to be poured into a glass filled with smoke at our table. Unfortunately, the waitress only brought the tea itself and said the smokey glass was not available. I was disappointed and asked for a regular iced tea instead. Surprisingly, she later brought the smoke-filled glass and I was able to enjoy the experience. Another problem was with the Brisket, which we had to pay extra for. It was very fatty and not enjoyable to eat.

This place serves salt salty foodfood so salty you need a bowl of water to dilute the sodium. onone of their very own waitresses confided that, quality is in decline.

Warning: Be cautious of finding hair in your food, whether intentional or accidental. My birthday celebration at this restaurant was a disaster. The empty dining room was a bad sign from the start. The high chairs were unsafe for children, as the buckles were broken or missing on all of them. I had to constantly watch my grandson to make sure he didn't fall and hurt himself. The damaged flooring was a tripping hazard for elderly individuals or small children. Adding a rug over the buckled floor joints was not a sufficient solution. To make matters worse, I discovered a dark hair on the side of my child's burger, and later found another one in my older daughter's food. She had already started eating and mistakenly thought it was her own hair. This is unacceptable, as there are food handling and safety protocols that should prevent these issues. I will not be returning to this restaurant and cannot recommend it to others.

I first ordered a brisket sandwich with Mac n cheese and baked beans. The meat was dry, the beans were watered down, and the Mac n cheese was mushy.. I did complain to management. After all it was about $25.00 for my meal with tiny portions. The manager came over and explained if I wanted my money back, it could take about 15 days! He tried to make it right. He suggested a pork sandwich. I agreed. He took my plate. Came back with the sandwich baked beans with more beans in them and potato salad. Much better. But the potato salad tasted like (Resers). Highly processed. Anyway, too much money for the portions and generally very disheartening. I won't go back.

My love and I had St Louis ribs, beef briskets, the famous Wilbur beans, and of course Famous Dave cornbread. Our server was very friendly and constantly kept checking on us to make sure everything was okay. I've had barbecue all over Texas, but none as good as Famous Dave's.
