The Caribbean Market - Takoma Park

My Jamaican GF loved this place. Said it had all the tastes of home she was missing. Huge selection jammed into that spot!

So grateful that my Jamaican coworker introduced me to this place. Don't let the small amount of storefront glass fool you. This market is large and very well stocked. I love the variety of fresh vegetables and I purchased the best tasting Curry powder I have ever had; and it is proudly made in Jamaica. Such an amazing array of meats and animal products. I'm a fiend for some oxtail and the cooler case had a mountain of them. Sorry to say I cannot find the photographs I took while shopping there.

This is my go-to spot for caribbean food items that I cannot find in large grocery stores. While it looks small on the outside, it is very spacious on the inside and very well stocked. It is a little more expensive than elsewhere but the tradeoff is the availability of items to create authentic Caribbean dishes!

I dive 30 minutes to this store every month because that are the most robust Caribbean market in the area by far! You won't be disappointed!

I was amazed of their inventory of merchandise. Plenty of different seasoning, sauces and groceries. They have an assortment of seasoning that are very hard to find in my area. Such as Chief seasonings.
