I can't wait to return and explore more of their culinary wonders!
Just a wonderful spot on the river in Tampa. I am familiar with the executive chef from prior locations and nothing here disappoints! Absolutely wonderful spot.
We arrived 5:30 PM on a FridayWas not too busy when we arrived but half full within an hour. The area is lively !Out server, Destiny, was high energy, and spoke about every dish passionately ! She gave wonderful recommendations! The hummus is great with a bit of added goat cheese. The meatballs were good but not amazing …. The pork chop was excellent !The cocktails are well crafted and service is extraordinary. The space is visually appealing and lets in beautiful outside light as you enjoy the outside buzz (from your comfy air conditioned table)
Nice place in Armature, next the main food building.Had brunch and took a stroll.Good drinks and brunch. My spicy Blood Mary followed by the chicken salad paired really well together. Spicy heat of the drink first was then balanced off by the sweet and acid of the brunch dish.
Oak Ola is one of the few restaurants that gets 5 stars from me. We were seated at the settee table in the corner of the restaurant, there was a bit of a whining noise but it became unnoticeable after a few moments. The server, James, was knowledgeable, attentive and not overbearing knowing just when to stop by and when to stay away. To start, we had the Charcuterie board and the Endive salad, both expertly prepared . Next came the Hanger Steak and Snapper Amandine. The steak was done to perfection as was the snapper. Both were nicely plated for nice eye appeal. Our mains were delivered by the owner/chef who took time to have a conversation with us. Her presence was noticed throughout the restaurant during the dinner service checking on customers and their meals. The dessert (Finishing Touch) was the house specialty English Toffee Cake. I am a bit skeptical that there was REAL whipped cream on the plate. It tasted more like a whipped topping but I didn't take points off (at least it wasn't canned spray cream). The portion sizes are generous but not oversized relying on quality not quantity, leaving you satisfied, not overstuffed. All in all an excellent meal and venue. Highly recommended.
