Írjon visszajelzéstOur family has been dining at Lowery's since at least 1956. It's been a tradition for us to stop there on every trip through Tappahanock, to the extent that we would sometimes make a detour just to enjoy a meal at Lowery's. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. The menu has changed— and not for the better— the prices appear to have risen significantly, and the quality of food preparation has been lacking on several occasions. I also think the antique cars, which used to delight the kids, are no longer there. The service is decent, I guess, but the warm, friendly attitude that was once a hallmark of Lowery's staff has been noticeably absent during our recent visits.
Lowery's used to be a great restaurant, but it has gradually declined in both food quality and service. There are many better options available in Tappahannock now.
Unfortunately, today marks my last visit to Lowery's for quite some time. Living nearby, my wife and I have dined here on and off for over 50 years. We hope to see a change in their seasoning practices. We enjoyed the Sunday buffet, and while the ingredients were of good quality, much of the food was overwhelmed by salt. I've had salt-cured country ham and salted fish that weren't nearly as salty as what we experienced here. Having lived in the Northern Neck all my life, I know what excellent seafood tastes like, and it could have been great if the salt shaker hadn't been so overused. I sincerely hope management will taste their dishes and consider making adjustments. Given the high-quality food this restaurant is known for, it's a shame to see it overshadowed by excessive salting.
