Ship Inn - Tavistock

This is a lovely pub set in a beautiful surroundings, serving really good food. The staff are fantastic, and it offers great value. It's slightly off the beaten path, but definitely worth a visit.

That was probably the best Sunday roast I've ever had! Every bite was an absolute joy; it was perfection on a plate. I can't recommend the Sunday roast I enjoyed here highly enough—definitely a 11/10. The beer, which is brewed right in front of the pub, was also fantastic. The quay itself shows the effects of being closed for two seasons due to COVID, but if this pub is any indication, its future looks bright.

After being drawn to the area just two years ago, we visited the museum, took the train, and enjoyed a few drinks at the lovely pub. On Friday, after some drinks and a chat with the delightful Chloe, we decided to take a scenic walk along the track. We noticed the Ploughman’s on the menu, and it looked delicious, so we went back earlier to try it. I was initially devastated by the Ploughman’s, but it turned out to be fantastic! My wife had the Stilton, I had the Sink, and our daughter had fish and chips. We also enjoyed the locally produced miners ale and some gin and tonics for my wife. The food was excellent—fresh, plentiful, and of high quality. A big thank you to Ross for a fabulous experience! The staff was brilliant and friendly, and we will definitely be returning soon to celebrate my wife's birthday with a meal.

Beautiful pub, great staff and the beer brauten there was great. beetroot burger was great and we had a nice walk through the quay and minengebiet afterwards.

Lovely meal. They had their own brewed beer on tap, very good, and ice cream locally made. Staff were wonderful.
