Írjon visszajelzéstLa capilla was a must on our to-do list while staying in Tequila. We were a little disappointed in the atmosphere. It was grimy, needs a little up keep. There was no music so the vibe was not there. They had a movie playing instead...which makes socializing a little hard. The famous batanga was good though! We were there on a weekday so hopefully the weekends are more entertaining.
This is the place the locals speak of, great food and live music, time to let your guard down here and really experience the culture:
This is a no frills hole in the wall that serves a great drink in the Batanga, which is dangerously delicious, in a warm and friendly environment. We even met up with the bartenders later at another bar for a nightcap. Probably not for everyone 's,...but for those that get it , it 's a must.
If you blink you might miss this hidden gem in the small town of Tequila, Jalisco but it 's world famous. Celebrities, rock stars and tequila aficionados from far and wide make a point to try Don Javier 's 'Batanga '. Even Carlos Santana himself comes once...a year, plays a free concert in town square then drinks the night away in La Capilla. Why the name? La Capilla means the chapel and when you visit you come in on your feet, but by the end you are on your knees praying . In the picture below, Don Javier 's son serves up a round of Batangas made with Siempre Tequila, a local favourite.
