Simple casual family restaurant crowded with locals. When rating a restaurant one must consider both their pricing and intentions. This restaurant is very informal and delicious pasta and Primi Piatti from $12 E. We loved our fresh pasta with white veal sauce , grilled vegetable plate and mixed grilled fresh fish platter for two. Add a bottle of wine and appetizers and still about $30E per person. Easily could have left full and satisfied for $20! Just a place to grab dinner or a pizza, which also looked good with a broad selection of topping combinations. Desserts also homemade. Very friendly staff, Some English spoken certainly better than my Italian.

Another lunch found near Pontedera. Restaurant and pizzeria (you can only order pizza for dinner), which at 1 in the afternoon is almost full, mostly with locals. We only order seafood dishes, from the soup to the main, because we saw this this is what the locals are only eating around. The soup (Italian soup, not what everyone imagines) is wonderful, the pasta too, and for the main we don't have space left, but we can't leave it either. I highly recommend this place but only if you want to eat delicious Italian sea food and don't mind it being so noisy with heated conversations around the tables that you can barely hear whoever you're sharing your lunch with!

First. I’d like to address the reviewer who thought they were singled out for being American. I asked (in Italian) if the hostess spoke English, which she did not. I was able to ask for a table for two in Italian. Please note we are now at a total of six words in Italian, so it is not a heavy lift. I don’t mean to be rude but these are good phrases to know if you are traveling in this area as this is not a large city. She instantly knew what we wanted, we pantomimed to sit outdoors. Then, we did wait a few minutes between receiving the menus and being able to order. However, it was clear to me that they were waiting for the waitress who spoke English to be available, I do not think we were in her section. This lovely young woman was very accommodating and answered any questions we had, Graziemille! Food and wine arrived quickly and was excellent. Prices are very fair. This was a nice casual meal and it was a good sign that so many Italian families were dining here. Mangia e buon fortuna!

Now a point of reference. both takeaway and in presence. I recommend all spaghetti with clams. My favorite dish

Between pizzas, first and second based on meat or fish is not enough to go there only once. they can manage well also boards with many commensali.
