Small deli and restaurant attended by the owners themselves. Great service and reasonable prices. Quality is above anything you may have tried.

My family has been visiting the Westdale Delicatessen for nearly 30 years since we moved to Hamilton. It used to be our special treat after Hebrew school. Meir and Necha have become family. They are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Our family favourites are pastrami, Montreal smoked meat, and the incredible homemade latkes.

I've been meaning to stop in this spot... and I was coming up empty everywhere else on my search for Diamond Crystal Salt... it would seem I just picked up the last box of Diamond Crystal anywhere in Hamilton and it was at Westdale Delicatesen. 5* for that alone... plus a very nice lady who I think was the owner. Next time I'll stop in for a sandwich.

It took me 25 years to realize that this is the best place to get pastrami. I remember when there was a sports card store at the corner; as a child, I would come here with my parents and grandparents during our occasional trips to Hamilton. Thank you for still being around. My family will be back to visit soon!

The owners are incredibly warm and welcoming, and they're very friendly. I ordered a "medium" pastrami sandwich along with some Montreal smoked meat, and the portions are quite generous! The sandwiches are served in the traditional style with a spread of mustard on rye bread. The place also functions as a small kosher grocery store and has a nostalgic, old-school atmosphere. Due to COVID, it's currently takeout only, but you can buy their soups frozen. They’re made fresh without any preservatives, and there are several delicious varieties to choose from. This is definitely a must-visit spot in Westdale!
