The Carpenters Arms

Stayed in the family room (upgraded as picture of double room looked small) was shocked to hear the prices had been raised in September. Even though I had booked in September, I still paid a big difference. The price that's being charged is quite high seeing how you need a car to be able to travel to spots. Nice to see the bathroom had been painted and the condensation marks were gone. Didn't have a meal here as last time was just ok.

Popped in for a couple of drinks and game of pool. Very warm and cosy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be calling back for food as it looked and smelt great. Service: 5

Cheap and cheerful. New owner needs a lesson in hospitality. Seemed a bit rude and dizzy not sure if she knows what she's doing. Dark haired lady cooking food was really nice. Good choice on the menu. Whether they have any in stock is another thing. Service: 1

Absolutely awful Sunday dinner here today. Portions were way too small and lukewarm. The mash potato wasn’t edible at all it was like milky slop with lots of lumps in including some potato peel. Very difficult to cut through the stuffing balls and Yorkshire. Meat was very chewy and only one half full gravy boat given between 4 dinners. Such a shame as we had a beautiful dinner here with previous owners early this year. Will definitely not be coming back especially not for 12.50 a meal.
