The Rail Stop - The Plains

Probably the best restaurant experience I've had in months. The food was AMAZING. The service was great too. Not too hurried nor too slow. Attentive and aware of the customer's needs. The decor fits the theme of the restaurant perfectly. Honestly, the food was superior.

The cashier was hateful and my spinach was not sautéed it was half cooked and my quesidillas were salty... Not good....

A hidden gem in the plains. Casual fine dining, excellent staff, great food!

Upon arrival we immediately made eye contact with the hostess who was in the kitchen. We were not acknowledged and left to stand there. Ok! Busy! A waiter (older gentleman) while serving other tables came up and told us he would let the hostess know we were there! Ok, she saw standing there! When he mentioned it to her, she kind of rolled her eyes at him and acknowledged. She finally came to greet us and escort us to our table. We wanted to sit outside and queried about an umbrella and we were told , we could open it ourselves! We don’t mind, it was just the delivery! Same waiter came back to take our order! He was super kind and professional. He made lunch a much better experience for us! Food and wine suggestions were excellent! I understand it was somewhat busy but, a hostess is the face of the business and can really impact the guest experience!

After about 15 minutes without any service, two different servers walked by us without acknowledging our presence. The host returned to check on us and we informed her that no one had approached us yet. An older gentleman was attending to a table of two and another table of six, frequently glancing in our direction but ultimately ignoring us. The group of six had arrived 25 minutes after us and were promptly greeted by the older gentleman, who immediately took their order. Seeing another staff member, we asked how long we would need to wait and whether the host had submitted our order since no one seemed responsible for our table. He apologized and said he would assist us. It was frustrating to note that there was a child at our table who had been waiting over an hour for his food, and he informed us it would take an additional 25 minutes. At that point, we decided to leave, feeling let down after hearing such positive reviews about the restaurant. I hope this experience was simply due to being "busy" and not because the older gentleman was unwilling to serve us. It's truly unfortunate!
