On Friday evening, here for dinner and the place was not too full. Beautiful Japanese atmosphere with music and lighting was not too dark. Grief Grief Order the Awedashi Tofu, spider roll, spicy salmon roll and pink salt Wagyu BBQ. The Awedashi Tofu was really nice, especially the broth was not to gooey (like a few Japanese restaurants), the tofu was cooked well. The spider roll was very average, the cooking of the soft shell crab can be improved and can be crisper. The spicy salmon roll was very nice, the salmon was nice and fresh, was my favorite dish! And finally we ordered the pink Salt Wagyu BBQ, the beef was really nice and tender, no fat that was very good. However, if you cook the beef, the beef was pretty salty, so it may be better to eat it with rice or something to neutralize the salty taste of the pink salt. Grief Overall great food!
Shiki is a beautiful Japanese restaurant on the corner of Argyle and Harrington Street. It offers a wide assortment of classic and newly invented Japanese cuisine including Sukiyaki and Chawanmushi. Grief I tried her version of Chawanmushi and was really disappointed. While their egg detections was a good mix of Daishi, Mirin and egg, the absence of Ginkgo is outrageous! In addition, the addition of scallops, shrimp and fries did not improve the taste and the over-cooked scallops, fish and shrimp were hard, dry and wrinkled. Seriously, I hope that the chefs realize that scallops, shrimps and fish are really cooked quickly. Grief Grief The beef was cooked on a heated block of the Himalaya salt. Unfortunately, it was Gimmicky and the beef was converted into a salt roller.
Intimate experience with friendly staff. Food was nice. For dinner we ordered the Wagyu Deluxe Set menu and a side of crabs and Sashimi of salmon, royal fish and tuna. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The Wagyu was tender and all sides and diving sacros were well paired. It was fun to cook my wagyu on the pink salt, but not when I almost burned my hand, as the flames were slightly too high. We also cook our meat and vegetables in a sweet soy broth ~ Sukiyaki or as Japanese hot pot. It would have been nice to end with a dessert when considering how much it costs per person. Grief The Sashimi enamel almost in your mouth. The dry ice effect made it more appealing. Grief The crab was sweet and juicy, but no fan of the crab, because I do not like the meat in the shell. Grief The tropical and kiwi kiwi mocktails were nice. The staff was friendly and centrally empty plates. A pleasant experience as a whole.
The best Japanese restaurant in Sydney with nice staff and foods. Price costs, but especially for birthday dinner or special occasions In any case, I'll come back and also take other friends
