Le Bistrot Gessien - Thoiry

In the Satoriz shop, very fresh products. Try one of their juices, we had a green one with apples, pears, avocado and spinach, delicious! The vegetarian dish was a stuffed vegetable, light and colourful.

The food is mediocre, stay away from the Basque burger, but I like this place. There is a crazy mad bustle at lunch time, waiters racing, workmen drinking, families, colleagues, every table full but the wait is never long. The menu du jour is a safe, inexpensive bet. I often eat lunch here alone and never feel conspicuous as I do in most restos in France. I take a book and surreptitiously observe the other patrons. I always wonder how any work ever gets done in the afternoon in France after everyone has finished their demi-carafe of wine.
