The Bistro At Lora Bay - Thornbury

The restaurant offers a stunning view of the golf course and the Georgian Bay, perfect for dining outdoors if the weather permits. However, we were a bit disappointed with the food. We ordered the Krispy chicken burger, which was tasty but could use more toppings. The calamari was flavorful but lacked value due to the small portion size. The pasta special, turkey bolognese, was decent but not outstanding. Unfortunately, there were limited vegetarian options, such as the Med Veg stack, which was not recommended. On a positive note, the service was excellent and we enjoyed a beautiful rose. We would consider returning for drinks and the ambiance.

Minimal menu. Ordered ‘lobster roll’. Fake lobster, terrible. Overwhelmed staff at times. Drinks are exceedingly over priced. Uncomfortable chairs, no placemats or proper table setting but demanding high end prices. Needs a reboot. View is wonderful.

The views of the golf course and the lake were just beautiful. The food and service was excellent! Big shout out to our server Noah. He had such a great sense of humour. A true professional. Another shout out for Kate. I had forgotten the name of the wine I was drinking on Sunday. I called the golf club and Kate said she would text Noah to ask and get back to me. Within minutes she called back. Please note, Noah was at home…not work. Both servers went over and above to serve me. Will definitely be back this summer. Thanks!
