The Sushi Chef - Thornton

Best sushi we have ever eaten! We loved them in Beeton now in Thornton as well. We have moved away, but every time we are back in town we head to Sushi Chef. Food service are AMAZING! Love the soft shell crab, miso soup, wonton soup,tempura rolls, sashimi, dynamite and dragon rolls and absolutely everything we have ever had here!

I’ve been here a few times for lunch and the food is amazing. Everything comes out quickly and the foods always really good. It’s never super busy inside and the staff are super nice. The atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful and they always have some soft music playing. Would 100% recommend the lunch bento boxes.

Without a doubt, this sushi joint takes the cake as the finest sushi north of the GTA. It easily outshines the other spots in and around Barrie.First things first, the service is top-notch. Even though there was just one waitress handling all the tables when I visited, she was super friendly and on point. Plus, the food came out pretty quick.Now, let's talk about the sushi itself – it's a flavor explosion. Every bite, even the non-traditional stuff like sushi pizza, is a winner. I'd suggest going for one of those combo meals that come on a boat. They throw in some yummy miso soup and a crisp salad too.Price-wise, it's totally fair. We got a boatload of high-quality food for what we paid.This place is a real hidden gem. It's not your run-of-the-mill sushi spot near Barrie. Heck, I'd say it could more than give the big shots in Toronto a run for their money in terms of taste, this coming from someone who is from Toronto.No doubt, a solid 5/5 from me!

It was our first time in this restaurant.We loved everything, the menu , the way that they served the rolls on a boat , the service was great .Everything we took was great .We definitely will come back

Great sushi spot located in Thornton. Been there a few times and everything we’ve ordered has been of the highest quality. Definitely worth jumping off the highway on the way up to the cottage.
