La Diligence - Thouars

Since moving to France over 20 years ago, we have used the Leclerc shopping centre for some of our general shopping, and we have been using this Cafe in all that time. It's great to either grab a sandwich/salad and a sticky cake before shopping, washed down with a drink from the bar. It's equally very pleasant to grab a chair and park your shopping trolley after a Saturday afternoon fight for the groceries wine and then have a nice cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The staff are always very attentive and bring your drinks in a flash. If you are holidaying in the area and just want a quick bite and do some shopping, you could do a lot worse. I can heartily recommend this Cafe/Snack bar

La Diligence is a boulangerie/pattisserie located alongside a bar right opposite the checkouts in the LeClerc supermarket in Thouars. The coffee here is excellent and the freshly made half baguettes are to die for. I always have a Jambon Fromage Crudites which is a half baguette filled with ham, cheese tomato and lettuce and the girls know that my wife is allergic to tomato and immediately rustle up the same thing with egg substituted for the tomato. 2 people can have a good lunch here for about 10 euros and I can guarantee you will be back for another baguette at sometime.

La Diligence is a Boulangerie Pattisserie located in the entrance hall to the Leclerc supermarket in Thouars. The same business also runs the bar and coffee shop so you go and buy your Baguettes and then order your coffee at the table in the adjacent cafe. The half baguettes are split and buttered before being filled with great ham, cheese and tomato plus the obligatory bit of lettuce and mayonaise. The bread is fresh and cripsy and to top everything the Grand Creme Coffees are top class also. You have made it in France when you approach the young lady manning the kitchen and she knows you want another one without tomato to allow for your wife's alergy to tomatos. After a trip around the supermarket this simple lunch really makes my day!

Personnel accueillant, petits prix, grands choix dans les sandwichs. On y mange très bien et l'environnement est sympa.
