Enjoyed our meal at the quaint restaurant. The 5 of us tried different things and everything was delicious! We also liked the calamari and bruchetta we got as appetizers!
The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. I visited this week with a friend who uses a wheelchair. While she waited at the counter for a few minutes, two employees were behind the counter but didn't approach her. I eventually had to call them over to assist her. One of the young women looked at me and asked what my friend wanted, and I told her to ask my friend directly. My friend communicated her order, but the employee then turned to me and asked how much she wanted. I redirected her again to my friend, who communicates perfectly well. The employee then asked if my friend wanted her order in a bag, and once more, I told her to ask my friend. It seemed like the employee was uncomfortable speaking directly to someone in a wheelchair. Although the location is great and the store is charming, I decided not to make a purchase due to the way my friend was treated. Additionally, they were unsure if they offered parking validation.
We had a lovely evening on the back deck, which was heated for comfort. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. There was just a minor hiccup—my side dish didn't arrive at the same time as my entrée, but it came out shortly after. The restaurant has a delightful ambiance in a lovely location. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but where else can you find decent food these days, aside from In-N-Out? The food quality was outstanding, and the desserts were delicious too. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable experience.
Facts: Carpaccio Di Manzo – “where’s the meat?!” This is more of a Arugula salad with a topping of Carpaccio. Cioppino – I’ve lived in the Bay Area for over 20 years, and this is the worst Cioppino I have ever had. Lack of seasoning, flavor and it was not fresh, it was sitting under a heat lamp and came out luke-warm. The broth is not broth, it’s a can of tomato puree. You should be ashamed of yourselves, have your cooks go to North Beach, Castro or Soma and let them order and taste Cioppino. What comes out of a Jar at Safeway is better. Gelato w/Baked Pear – I have had this in other establishments, and its warm to hot! A final mediocre dish. (I’m sure the Manager or Owner will apologize, that does not cut-it, how about working with your line cooks and training them? How about offering to credit me my dinner.
