I was surprised to walk in and see a dark room as we were seated. I had trouble adjusting to the minimal light and immediately gravitated towards the table with the brightest light at the back of the room. We were immediately approached by the waiter offering us something to drink. Once settled in and enjoying our wine I was surprised to experience the wait staff coming to our table and removing what we were nibbling on. "I was eating that," is what I thought as they came and took our plates away. Either we were eating too slow or they were rushing us. We just couldn't get a good rhythm down until it was time to pay even then we had to wait for the waiter to bring us our bill. Place is way too expensive. You can eat a meal just as good if not better without all the hoopla at another restaurant in TJ. Baja Terra, Merlot, Fonda Argentina.
Having a couple of visits, just to confirm how expensive it was and even that they have a nice menu, fine dishes and good wines, it is not worth it. It was offensive expensive.
I've been to El Grill twice-- once in February for dinner and again today for lunch (I was so excited that the server remembered me!) This place is a true gem south of the border. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! I will surely be back.
The food is very expensive and poor quality. I ordered a Rib-eye steak and it was hard and tasteless. The steak came with burnt grilled vegetables. I will never eat here again, very disappointed.
