2nd Street Coffee House - Tillamook

I bought a Janis Joplin and the Holding Company record at this shop many years ago when it was a second-hand store. Ray and his wife Cheryl were dear friends of mine 30 years ago when I lived in Tillamook. Cheryl was my lifeguard instructor and remains one of my heroes to this day. If anyone sees this message and happens to visit this coffee shop, could you please say hello to Ray for me? Let him know that both he and Cheryl hold a special place in my memories and my heart. This place will be the first stop I make when I return someday. Thank you!

I discovered this coffee shop through Google and was drawn in by its quirky photos, so I decided to check it out. However, upon arriving, we found there was no one to serve us, and we ended up heading to a café across the street (Sara Sota's), which is fantastic and offers real coffee and delicious food. When we asked the staff at Sara Sota's about the coffee shop on 2nd Street, they mentioned it's more of a local hangout and has been in business the longest. While they do have coffee, it's self-serve and only drip coffee. I loved the atmosphere, but it doesn’t function as a traditional coffee shop. I gave it 5 stars because I appreciate the owner's work and found the experience enjoyable and amusing. It's something my friends and I will laugh about for a long time!

Upon entering, the place resembled more of a cluttered workshop than a coffee shop. The owner glanced at us, then shuffled off to the bathroom and shut the door without saying a word. After waiting for a minute, we decided it was best not to risk getting coffee from such an unkempt establishment.

Ray was sweet and funny, the drip coffee was good and he included me in some interesting conversation with other locals. Cash only, so don’t plan on using plastic or iAnything.

This place have very good coffee on the 2ND Street you should come by fairway coffee sometime and try out some of are coffee
