This was so great I ate there twice in a four night stay. They had two vegan options (as other reviewers said, for their 35th anniversary) prominently advertised on the front door and in the menu. The place is very difficult to find even if right in front of it; the name is only mentioned in a tiny plaque on the upper left side of the door.
I stopped by twice for their new, temporary items: chili oil vegan ramen (to eat in-store) and vegan instant noodles (to take home and make later). They're being sold to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the restaurant, I believe. It seems like the vegetables in the chili oil ramen are the same as what's in the shoyu ramen (IIRC), and the soy meat on top is the same. Only the soup base appears different. It has more flavor than the shoyu ramen. I think this one is their best yet. It would be great if it had more of the soy meat. The vegan instant noodles were good too. T's Ramen has better soups with more umami. But Kyushu Jangara is in a lot of places that T's isn't, so I'll keep going there. I'm glad to see their items are improving. I've never heard the word vegan so much in a mainstream restaurant in Japan from the other customers, so it's great they're getting the word out there about veganism. Not the biggest ramen fan and I usually leave the broth however I emptied this bowl- so so so good. Really nice service and food came quick!
Had BOTH vegan ramen. Don’t know what I was thinking. Well worth it though. Enjoyed both of them. Great food. Great staff too
