Írjon visszajelzéstI was looking forward to dining at Le Neuf with a friend who had recently returned from Paris. I made a reservation through Open Table and received a reminder the day before. However, when we arrived at the restaurant at 7 pm on a Tuesday, we found it closed with no explanation. I did not receive any notification through phone or email about the closure. When I called the number listed on Open Table, I reached a voicemail and left a message. It was disappointing not to have been informed in advance. I wondered if they decided not to open for the night due to a lack of customers.
We walked into a cozy dining room with wonderful French posters framed on the walls. The tables were dressed with antique dishes. Our server spoke perfect French and English and helped us to order the perfect meal. Our Mushrooms Feuillete was nicely creamy with just the right amount of wine in the sauce. The little pastries were still flaky even though they were in the sauce. We followed the appetizers with Grilled Rack of Lamb. Again, perfectly cooked, with a nice red in the centre of each chop. The ratatouille was excellent as well. I have had dessert from Le Neuf several times and it never disappoints. This time I tried a light pistachio Flandrin. Amazing. Truly, this is a real gem in the heart of the Entertainment District, and a step into another world.
This little French cafe in a Victorian house on little-known Clarence Park will transport you to Paris. The menu is typical of a Parisian brasserie, a bit limited but authentic homemade French cuisine. The French owner and her energetic staff will make you feel at home, service that is at times imperfect but all-the-while perfectly charming. The French onion soup is outstanding, as is the duo a foie gras and steak frites. The portions are very generous and flavourful. Go on a double date and try to get the table in the front window. Or wait until the weather gets better and try brunch on the patio. Oh by the way, they have an excellent selection of patisserie too! You definitely won't regret discovering this hidden piece of Paris in Toronto. Excellent!
This is a charming little restaurant in late old Victorian house. If you were missing the small cafÃs of Paris this is the place you want to go to. We enjoyed a meal with several appetizers including food gras, mushrooms in pastry, French onion soup to die for etc...then finished with coffee and a lavender macaron, HEAVENLY
Classy, elegant, authentic French delicious food in a charming historic nook in downtown Toronto. Creeps and sandwiches are delicious, and their almond croissant is the edible Helen of Troy. It could launch ships.
