Írjon visszajelzéstThe atmosphere of this spot was excellent and what originally drew me to this dinner spot. I had never had dinner here and this time was extra special as I had some friends from the states visiting and was looking to show them what Toronto was about. This place FAILED in service, hospitality and the ultimately dreadful all meals on one bill fiasco. We were a large group and this was horrific to deal with. I spoke several times with the server who seemed unbothered and didn't care or go above and beyond to help resolve the mix ups simply saying this happens a lot. ( shouldn't that be a LIGHTBULB moment for management to change processes that are not working) the food was basic. Better explianed I could have gone to a Chinese fast food spot and had similar food. Overall I would not recommend this place, I will not be returning either they have definitely lost my busniess.
I had come here years ago for dinner and had a great time. I was passing by and wanted dessert for a quick fix. I decided to come in. It was about 10pm and the place was so empty. We sat down and ordered 2 desserts. The chocolate cake and the banana fritter. Even though the service was fast, and the dishes looked clean. Both were horrible!! We had to send the banana fritter back because it was like eating raw batter. The waitress was very nice and understanding. I never send food back but it was just awful. I think the restaurant itself had a good vibe, it was nicely decorated and the service and waitresses were good but the food was a no go. I don't know what happened from a few years back but I will deff not be coming here again.
I haven't met such rude bouncers in my life. Respect is not in their dictionary. They literally treat everyone like monkeys. If you're into belittlement or you want a crappy night out, you know where to go.
I celebrated my birthday at Spice Route today with 10 friends and spent over $600 on food and alcohol. After dinner, we settled our bills and headed to the bar as it started to get busy. My boyfriend handed the bartender his credit card to start a tab, and we got a round of drinks. We came back an hour later and ordered another round of shots. The SAME bartender asked for payment and we told her we started a tab and she had his credit card. She whispered to another bartender, and barely looked around for the credit card before coming back saying they didn't have it. We argued with her back and forth for 20 minutes before she proceeded to take the newly poured shots back and refused to entertain the conversation. At this point I didn't even want our drinks, I just wanted the credit card back. My boyfriend proceeded to go look for the manager as the bartender continued to BELITTLE me telling me that we were just trying to cause a scene, I needed to calm down and that if I didn't have money to pay for the shots we would need to leave the bar. I couldn't believe what I was hearing when this was such a black and white situation. Another friend of mine couldn't believe what was happening so she went to find the waitress who had served us earlier to try and get the situation resolved. The waitress told her to wait at the side and that she would come back, and just never showed up.30 minutes later, my boyfriend finally found the manager and came back. The manager finally went around the bar and FOUND THE CREDIT CARD RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER. The manager then gave us an obnoxious thumbs up and said "found it!" WITHOUT EVEN APOLOGIZING for their behaviour. I just spent $600 on dinner and an additional $100 on the tab I started and they took away an hour of my night because the bartender was too lazy to look around for my credit card. Furthermore, the bartender has the audacity to shrug it off and hand us the machine like we were the ones causing trouble. I gave her a piece of my mind and left the bar with my group of friends. I will never come back here and they're lucky we even paid the tab. This place is full of entitled servers and bartenders who have no respect for their paying customers. I will never step foot in this establishment again.
Very well decorated with some surprising elemenents ( must see the washrooms). The food was beautifully prepared and presented and just a little different, the Peking duck was delicious and so were the lamb chops. The portions tend to be small but they have reasonably priced bottles of wine. This appears to be a favorite lace for the hip set in Toronto.
