The Bell Inn - Torridge

Proper old fashioned country pub. Very rustic. Food lovely. Really enjoyed our visit there. Would definitely return.

We had a Sunday carvery which really disappointing! The Beef was tough, roast potatoes were cremated and hard. Poor selection of only 3 veg. There were no boiled/ mashed potatoes. The gravy was flavoured with the juices of the smoked meat which gave that taste to all the food. We didn't stay for desserts and stated as we left that we were dissatisfied.

We had a great night at The Bell Inn last night. Our food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The Smokey chilli was superb. We had a good few drinks each and were very pleasantly surprised by the bill. The atmosphere was very welcoming and cosy and the couple working were lovely. They even dropped us back to our hotel so we didn’t have to walk! We highly recommend.

The pub is located about a 15-minute drive from Bideford. Upon arrival, we received a very warm welcome as if we were regulars. All the food is cooked to order so there may be a slight wait, but it is well worth it. The food was amazing, and the beer and spirits were excellent. I highly recommend this establishment. It is truly one of the best pubs I have ever visited. Anyone in the area should definitely come and enjoy it.

Massive thanks to Sally and her team at The Bell Inn Monkleigh, who did a fantastic job in making us feel welcome, smooth running in feeding all 18 of us last night in celebration for dads 70th birthday! Amazing food, fantastic drinks with wonderful family and people in a lovely cosy warm place. Once again thanks for making it a special night!
