I'm usually not a fan of mexicans, but I've chosen this place because everyone said that eating is authentic and not the typical commercial **** that sometimes goes over for mexicans. cocktails are really good- strong- but good (zombie is deadly.) if they are a true tequila fan, then this is the place for them. you're getting the good one. all in all money well spent and worth it. I'm going back.
Only once visited this place. it was on a Wednesday evening, but the compact setting made it quite busy considering the middle week-time slot. there was not enough space for the four of us sitting in the main part, so we sat on chairs around the corner. this was the part of our service and our comfort. this is however a restaurant in every sense of the word, so that the casual service and the cool furniture are to be expected and even loved, depending on the age and setting. the main reason for the visit was of course eating. it wasn't disappointed. between the four of us we explored a good part of the menu and all agreed it was very delicious. none of us had ever visited mexico before so can not comment to the authenticity, but in comparison to the many Mexican restaurants I visited in london, this was certainly worth visiting here at the top end of the scale.
Two weeks ago, some of my expat friends and I read this glowing review of boho mexica and knew we had to check it right away. if they know any American expats in london, they will know that Mexican food is our catnip and crack, rolled in one.
Artistic and Bohemian. I like this: old literature and art on the walls, Mexican artists, Mexican taste from different regions. the best were the drinks, the music and the tacos. we all had a few salses and the three milkcakes. the food was delicious, although our table was on the back and a bit too crowded a Friday night. however we had a table without reservation waiting in the lounge (yes, there is a beautiful lounge area). service (this blond Australian girl) was really friendly! best Mexican option in the opposite.
Coolest East London Mexican. they want to have a delicious Mexican food, listen to good music and have fun, this is the place in the east londons. I tried a few tex mex in the city, by the way disgusting until I appeared in boho mexica. Even the old times on the wall and the historical posters about mexiko in the fifties have amazed me. drink really good, they have good employees behind the bar. we had all tacos, the cochinita is my favorite. though tables are small, but they can enjoy the living east london live at the windows: good looking at commercial st. really good atmosphere!
