The Fish Van - Triabunna

Was looking for a quick feed while staying in Orford and decided to head to the fish van for a quick feed for two. Located opposite the harbour it is easy to find with plenty of parking.Decided on the Seafood Basket (I think it was called that) and the food was great value at $18 and was more than enough food for two. The food was fresh and really tasty and more than enough for two.Comes highly recommended

Stopped by, had fish and Chips , some of the freshest tastiest fish I have eaten in a long while. Definatley visit this.

The flake was extremely greasy and the chips super dry. The five of us did not finish our food. To top it off, when the food was being packaged, they used bare hands, no gloves or utensils! Also saw the cook use her phone and then touch the food again without washing hands. Will not return.

We decided to have fish and chips for lunch. Couldnt drag hubby down to the park so I grabbed two cones of delicious fresh battered flathead and chips. I was lucky I was in early as the van filled up with hungry people just after I ordered. This van is located around the corner of the Spring Bay Hotel. Just inside are a couple of stools or outside are picnic tables. Your view is of the fishing fleet and the new marina and the Spring Bay estuary. Lovely sunny day so you can either go further to the dock where the Maria Island ferry leaves from or stay at the van or golly gosh go into the little park. The information centre is close by. The cone of fish and chips comes with lemon and tartare sauce. You can also buy tomato. Salt and pepper sachets to go on the bench inside. You can also order lots of seafood baskets or even hamburgers. I noticed some trays of fresh oysters. Couldnt get any fresh scallops as the boats arent in. The fish and batter were lovely and fresh. Lugged it all home and added my salad at leisure. Yum!

Fantastic fishermans basket. $18 for enough food for 2. Good selection of fresh and tasty seafood. Just what we needed on a cold winters day
