Barents Sea Restaurant - Tromsoe

Went to the this restaurant twice during our 3 days 2 nights stay. Food is fresh and you can definitely taste it. The pan fried halibut is outstanding and so is the reindeer steak. The first restaurant I went to that serves reindeer as a steak and not in a Stew. Had the reindeer Stew elsewhere but the medium rare reindeer steak at this restaurant is outstanding. Prepared medium rare and served with plenty of roasted root vegetables, the quality of the ingredients used shine through and we are glad we went there twice in a row. Pan fried halibut is outstanding, again the freshness of the fish speaks for itself. Seasoning is salt and pepper but really when you have product this fresh, why complicate things. Worthy mention is the fish soup. It was better than the other restaurant we went to with pieces of fish and mussels in it. All in all, a great place to go. Prices are on the higher side as with everything in Norway but for what you are getting, it is definitely affordable. Quality is amazing. Worth coming here to sample what Tromso has to offer.

I m very happy to find and eat at this restaurant. It was exactly that i want. We ate the local dishes and specially local fish. For me it was an enormous king crab and a delicious fish cream soup and for my husband reindeer carpaccio and a wonderful monkfish. The employee was very helpful and kindly persons. I recommend.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Nice and tasty food . Go for it if you need a taste of Norge's food.

Nos gustó muchísimo la comida, y un precio razonable. Probamos el tataki de ballena, carpaccio de salmón, el filete de tiburón y el halibut. Todo muy bueno!!!!
